Cookie Policy

This page lists everything Volaren Inc. stores in your browser, what each item does, and how to change your choice. It is part of our Privacy Policy. Questions: support@volaren.ai.
1. What we store, and why
Essential items are needed to deliver what you asked for: to keep you signed in, to remember your preferences, or to remember your choice below. They are set without asking. Optional items are never set in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil, South Korea or Quebec, or when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Elsewhere they are set unless you opt out below.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| stocks_token (local storage) | Essential | Your sign-in session. | 7 days, renewed while you use the site |
| v_auth | Essential | Tells the edge that this browser has signed in, so routing can act before the page loads. | 1 year |
| vl_consent | Essential | Remembers whether you opted out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. | 1 year |
| vl_consent_notice | Essential | Which version of this policy your answer was given under. | 1 year |
| __gate | Essential | The pre-launch password gate on staging previews. | 90 days |
| volaren.density.mode (local storage) | Essential | Your display density preference. | Until you change it |
| vl_vid | Optional | A random visitor identifier used to detect duplicate and self-referrals in the referral program. | 1 year |
| vl_ref | Optional | The referral code from a link you followed, so the person who referred you is credited when you sign up. First link wins. | 30 days |
| _gcl_au | Optional | Set by Google Ads to measure which advertisements lead to sign-ups. Set on every visit once you agree. | 90 days |
| _gcl_aw | Optional | Set by Google Ads only if you arrived by clicking one of our advertisements, so that the sign-up can be attributed to it. | 90 days |
| __obref | Optional | Set by OpenAI's measurement pixel to recognise your browser between visits, so an advertisement can be connected to what you did here. | 30 days |
| __oppref | Optional | Set by OpenAI's measurement pixel alongside the above, for the same purpose. | 30 days |
| __oaiq_consent | Optional | OpenAI's own copy of your answer. Removed along with the rest if you opt out, because your answer here is the one that decides whether their pixel loads at all. | 30 days |
| __oaiq_domain_probe | Optional | A short-lived test OpenAI's pixel writes to work out which address it is allowed to store cookies on. | Momentary |
The cookies whose names begin v_ or vl_ are first-party: set by volaren.ai, readable only by volaren.ai, never shared, and never used to follow you across the web.
The _gcl_ and OpenAI cookies are different. The _gcl_ cookies belong to Google Ads, which we use to measure which of our advertisements lead people to sign up. We also load a measurement pixel from OpenAI, used for the same purpose on advertising we run there. Both are advertising vendors and both can recognise your browser on their own services, which California law treats as "sharing" your personal information. We also load lettervisit, which counts visits from AI assistants and, through Maverick Intelligence and Vector, identifies the companies and people who visit; those vendors may store their own identifiers in your browser. If you opt out below, none of these vendors is contacted again (the page reloads without lettervisit); identifiers lettervisit's vendors already stored stay until you clear this site's cookies.
2. Things that are not cookies
Page analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It stores nothing in your browser: visits are counted against a hash that changes every day and cannot be turned back into you, which is why it is not optional.
Error reporting. If the site crashes in your browser, a report goes to Sentry with personal data scrubbed before it leaves. No identifier is stored in your browser for it.
Fonts. Type is loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files directly, which tells Google your IP address; Google sets no cookie for this.
Features you use. Some features remember their own state in your browser so they work the way you left them: a draft, a collapsed panel, whether you finished the walkthrough. That is part of the feature you chose to use, and it is never shared.
3. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Opting out below sets nothing optional, loads no advertising vendor, and removes anything optional that was already there. We also treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out. Either way the site works the same, and the person who referred you is still credited if you sign up from their link.
Opting out after the vendors have loaded withdraws your consent with both of them and deletes their cookies immediately. Each is told in its own supported way (Google through Consent Mode, OpenAI through its pixel's consent command), and both honour it in the page you are already looking at, without needing a reload. Reloading removes the vendors' code from the page as well.
You can also clear cookies for volaren.ai in your browser at any time.
4. Changes
If we add anything to this list we will update this page before it is set. The date at the top is the current version.
